In autumn 2021, I developed a concept for a collaboration between Teater Jævn, Hedensted Bibliotekerne (The libraries of Hedensted Municipality), and the NGO Swinging Europe, called Dinosaur – Imagination. The project was aimed at children aged 3 to 6 and was a hybrid physical-digital experience, utilizing the unique skills of the theatre, librarians, and the NGO to create something entirely new for all involved partners.
For the project, we used the theatre play, Everything is a dinosaur, as a thematic framework and designed a concept that combined physical theatrical workshops with a set of digital activities focused on storytelling, books, and drawing. During the pandemic, I researched various digital formats to design projects in a digital space, which proved useful for this specific project.
The project consisted of four physical workshops, planned by the director of Everything is a dinosaur, Lene Skytt, and were used as part of the artistic development of the play. Additionally, the project included three digital workshops, co-created by the involved partners and run by our two actors, Sofie Ancher Vea and Steffen Nielsen, two librarians from the library, and illustrator Anya Winqvist. Two of the workshops were recorded and shared as a video afterward, and the last workshop, the drawing workshop, was a live workshop using Zoom.
