The Dancer Revisiting – Performance at Deep Forest Artland
A Child-Inspired Live Performance in the Woods
In the Swinging Europe project, The Dancer Revisiting, three professional dancers from Holstebro Dansekompagni visited local kindergartens and schools to play with the children using their natural talent for improvisation as dancers. These meetings with the children provided the dancers with inspiration and gave them ideas to reflect on, which formed the foundation of the live performance you see on this page.
The performance, titled “The Dancer Revisiting,” was a captivating experience that combined the natural beauty of the forest with the artistry of dance and music. The professional dancers moved with grace and fluidity, interacting with the environment around them and incorporating their inspiration from the children into their performance.
The performance took place in the gallery-in-a-forest called Deep Forest Artland – Skovsnogen, and was accompanied by the musicians of Hej Jazz, myself included. I later mixed the recording and handed the mastering duties to the talented Nathan Moody at Obsidian Sound.
